Shop Repairs and Upgrades

When we first acquired this shop, it was in disarray. The previous owner had left quite a bit of stuff behind, the ceiling had paint peeling off of it, walls not fully insulated, base boards leaking when it rained, and there was dust, dirt and grime everywhere. We begun working on the ceiling and cleaning first, then about a year and a half in, a large storm came through and knocked out the power. Unfortunately for us, that turned into a large project when we discovered that the power was not properly directed, cable was spliced together in multiple places, and buried bare not even a foot below ground.

After a long stretch of time, we were able to get repairs made to the power, buried it properly in conduit and proper depth, and regained power to the shop! This allowed us to finish up our cleaning, and as of 2026, we officially moved BCAC from our dining room table into its proper space. We are still repairing, organizing, and cleaning as we go, but given the journey thus far, we couldn't be happier.

Next step, sealing the floor so that it doesn't sweat during the humid months and getting HVAC in to not only protect Hootey from the elements, but to keep the guns that we work on safe and temperature controlled. Follow along as we keep building our dream!
